The Dancing Plague
What cost people to dance uncontrollably?

She stepped out of her home and danced. Passers-by laughed at her but began dancing as well. Neighbors stepped out of their homes and also began dancing. There was no music that could be heard, yet those dancing seemed to hear some beat.
The dancing continued for days that many fell to the ground exhausted. Some elderly people died. Authorities called professional dancers to dance with the crowd hoping that when they stopped so would the village people. But they seemingly were caught up by some spell and started dancing endlessly.
That event was called The Dancing Plague of 1518.
